RIPE NCC
Academic background: I received a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute” and a master degree in Biotechnology from the same university.
Please explain why you are interested to participate at the Euro-SSIG: For the past four years I’m working at the RIPE NCC. For a couple of years I’m following the IGF’s remotely, both global and local forums, including those in my native country Ukraine. Recently I’ve participated in the ICANN meeting and got in touch with the broader Internet community. Although it was a valuable experience that gave me new insights, I feel the need in more academically structured information and in-depth knowledge in the Internet Governance. The SSIG, which provides such education, is a necessary step in my development. I hope to get a better understanding of different facets of the Internet governance and to form my own opinion based on gained knowledge. I’m also looking forward to meet colleagues who share the same goals no matter which sector or a part of the world they represent. There is also a personal reason why the Internet Governance is important for me. People of my generation take the Internet as an open, stateless space without borders for granted. As a mother of three I would like to contribute to the open and free future Internet and its multistakeholder governance model, as we knew it from its origin.
