Academic background: I am Electrical Engineer from UET Lahore, Pakistan (1991). Then I did my Masters in Computer Engineering from ESIM, Marseille, France (1995). Then I did my D.E.A. (MPhil) in Parallel Computer Architecture from University of Paris-Sud, France (1996). Then I did my Doctorate (PhD) in Wireless Networks from University of Paris-Sud, France (2000). Later on, I also did Masters in Engineering Management from UET, Taxila (2007). I have also successfully completed a number of workshops and trainings, organized by ICANN, ISOC and APNIC, related to Internet and networks (IPv6, DNSSEC, Internet Exchange Points, Internet Governance, etc.).

Please explain why you are interested to participate at the Euro-SSIG:
There are numerous reasons which make me interested to participate in Euro-SSIG. First of all, I am part of the team which arranges Pakistan School on Internet Governance (PkSIG), since it started in 2015. I also participated as an instructor in both of the schools (2015 and 2016), covering the topic of IETF in detail, and also touching upon the ISOC Islamabad Chapter, as I am also the Chair of the Board of Directors of ISOC Islamabad Chapter. After the successful experience of two PkSIGs, our chapter is now targeting to organize the next Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance (APSIG). Therefore, I would like to learn from the experience of the well established and reputed Euro-SSIG so that we can better organize the APSIG, which is a much bigger event as compared to PkSIG that we are currently organizing. Moreover, as I am an instructor (for IETF topic) in PkSIG, I would like to enhance my knowledge and understanding of the complete Internet Governance domain so that I can be an effective instructor for other topics also. For my profession, I am a professor at the university, and often engage my students in Internet Governance related topics, and I hope that going through EuroSSIG will significantly enhance my skills as well as my commitment to this domain. I am a fellow alumni at ICANN, a coordinator of an ALS under APRALO, and a NomCom member for 2015-2017.
