Pranav Bhattarai – Nepal

Academic background: I possess Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Development Studies from Kathmandu University including post-graduate degrees in English literature and journalism from Tribhuvan University of Nepal. Currently, I am associated with FHI 360, an American non-governmental organization based in Kathmandu and handling portfolio of governance advisor for a USAID-funded project. As a governance advisor, I provide technical support to local governments in applying ICT (mobile Apps) to promote citizen participation through ICT tools and Open Local Government Digital System (OLGDS) so that citizens can make use of internet and new media technologies to demand information on public service delivery and improve their access to information easily. I would call myself a development professional with a media and journalism background with years of experiences in media advocacy and campaigns in Nepal. In the past, I worked with different media outlets, and published around 530 op-eds on different issues including cyber security, online media challenges, digital governance, among others.
