Fellow Report:<\/h4>\n

The highlights of the EuroSSIG-2024 for me were (in the descending order):<\/p>\n

  1. Presentations by and follow-up formal and informal discussions with the invited faculty members on:\n
      \n
    1. Internet Governance<\/li>\n
    2. UN-related events (OEWG, AHC on cybercrime convention, etc.);<\/li>\n
    3. GDC, WSIS+20, WGIG.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Special thanks goes to the organisers for the presentations of experts on the technical underpinnings of the Internet. This talk of Verisign and RIPE on names and numbers was especially interesting and provided new information for me.<\/li>\n
    5. The talk on AI, new and emerging technologies was intellectually stimulating and I would like to recommend to have more in-depth discussions on this particular issue in future.<\/li>\n
    6. The simulation of the GDC presentations were a very nice touch but could have been more well developed as to the concrete tasks given to the groups on the text of the GDC (eg. \u201cplease represent the point of view of CANZ\u201d, \u201cplease talk on the issues as if you are representing the technical community\u201d, \u201cplease consider giving this presentation on behalf of civil society\u201d., etc). It was too easy for me to represent the position of ICANN, for example.<\/li>\n
    7. The out-of-classroom events provided an opportunity to interact with fellow students and faculty, especially over meals and dinners.<\/li>\n
    8. The \u201ccultural programme\u201d was diverse and gave an opportunity to have a genuine German experience for participants from other countries.<\/li>\n
    9. On the whole the entire programme was rich, and gave me a sense of fulfilment when I was leaving Germany.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
