I have a master\u2019s in Museum Studies (Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Artois, FR), and a master\u2019s in Digital Technologies applied to History (Ecole Nationale des Chartes, FR). After working in the field of access to information in NGOs, I continued to study with a University Diploma in Intellectual Property. Now, I am pursuing a master\u2019s degree in Digital and Technology Law. I am currently writing a master\u2019s thesis on GDPR and public data.<\/p>\n

Summer School on Internet Governance
\nJuly 2026<\/h4>\n

The 25th of July 2026 marks both the start of the 2026 cohort on Internet Governance and the 20th anniversary of EuroSSIG \u2014 the Summer School on Internet Governance. This programme takes place annually in the historic city of Meissen, Germany. It is carefully designed by Sandra Hofrichter and Wolfgang Kleinw\u00e4chter and brings together international experts throughout the week. <\/p>\n

Each discussion offers a deep dive into a specific aspect of Internet governance, from the difference between multilateralism and multistakeholderism in international forums to the complexity of domain names and the role of registrars in decisions involving law enforcement worldwide. Cybersecurity and cybercrime were also part of the conversation and underline the need for further international cooperation in order to strengthen accountability among stakeholders in the field. <\/p>\n

Additionally, the perspective of human rights within this conversation is essential, especially as international cooperation is increasingly challenged. The impact of mining extraction in the context of planetary limits, especially in the Global South, as well as the privatisation of water in European regions and new forms of human exploitation, are reshaping, in new and often concerning ways, the pursuit of economic gain in an unequal and inequitable world when it comes to workers\u2019 rights. <\/p>\n

The EU has established frameworks to protect citizens, such as the GDPR against the extractive use of data. The DSA highlights how platforms can be regulated and held accountable for the content they host, and the DMA aims to improve competition in the digital single market, with clear implications for internet governance. The overlap of the new legal framework, including the various omnibus proposals, will need to be considered in internet governance fora. <\/p>\n

I am extremely grateful to the lecturers and organisers for offering such a fellowship, as it helps bring new voices to the table and address these issues. Diversity and inclusion, as well as mentorship and lively critical debate, are essential for both the new generation and those who came before. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
