During the last 10 years \u02bbInternet Governance\u02bc has developed from being an expression understood by the \u02bbchosen few\u02bc to comprise \u02bbInternet at large\u02bc. The importance of understanding the steering and management of core elements of Internet infrastructure, particularly data transmission protocols and the Domain Name System has been developed through the efforts of EuroSSIG and the yearly summer school for students and others interested in the field have been of major importance. It has provided insight into the interaction of legal and non-legal processes in the drafting and enforcement of basic Internet standards. Understanding the respective roles and relative utility of contractual mechanisms and legislative and treaty-based mechanisms for global governance structures in Internet governance generally, and with a focus particularly on the management and steering of the DNS. It has been a privilege to have been part of the faculty, to meet interested participants and other faculty members. I hope for 10 new years \u2013 at least.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>
