Koury Lopes Advogados, Brazil

Graduated in Law from PUC-SP (2024), I have consistently pursued my passion for technology, governance, and the internet throughout my academic and professional journey. My research work spans critical issues such as the monetization of children’s images on social media, TikTok’s influence on Brazilian elections, and the regulatory challenges of AI, earning academic recognition and publication in Qualis journals. Currently, I work at a São Paulo law firm specializing in technology and innovation, advising clients on tech regulation, artificial intelligence, data protection, and intellectual property.

Fellow Report:

Taking part in the 19th edition of the EuroSSIG was an unforgettable experience. During the week, we explored everything from the foundations of internet infrastructure and governance protocols to complex debates on cybersecurity, AI, and emerging technologies. The faculty, made up of highly experienced and inspiring experts, brought depth and energy to every discussion.

But EuroSSIG is much more than a top-level academic programme. The cultural activities and group outings around Meissen gave us the chance to really connect — not just as professionals, but as people. Sharing these moments with such a diverse and talented group made the week even more special.

The organisation was outstanding from start to finish — from the warm welcome and comfortable accommodation at the monastery to the excellent food and perfectly balanced schedule. I truly recommend this experience to anyone interested in internet governance. It’s enriching not only on a professional level, but also personally, and something that will stay with you throughout your career.
