Embarking on my academic journey in 2016, I obtained a B.A. in Media and Communication Studies from Masaryk University’s Faculty of Social Studies. Subsequently, I delved into an M.A. in Media Studies, completing it in 2021. I earned another M.A. in Social Work – Counselling in 2022, both degrees obtained at Masaryk University.
Throughout my academic pursuit, my focus has centered on children and adolescents, exploring their online behavior along with associated opportunities and risks. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Media Studies at the same institution, with my dissertation focusing on the digital skills of children and adolescents.
Fellow Report:
I participated in the 19th edition of EuroSSIG in Meissen, Germany, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of speakers, the programme, and everything surrounding the organisation of this week-long course.
It was a great deep dive into key areas of internet governance. And as someone already quite experienced in the field, I was able to further deepen my understanding of various issues from different perspectives. I really appreciated how the days were thematically structured. For instance, one day was focused on policy, another on technical aspects, and there was a day specifically dedicated to cybersecurity. This kind of division made it much easier to follow and understand the different approaches and challenges we see in internet governance depending on the lens through which we view them.
I would definitely recommend EuroSSIG to anyone who is already somewhat immersed in the internet governance community and is looking to broaden their knowledge, but also to connect with great, like-minded professionals. Because here at EuroSSIG, you get a unique opportunity to spend time not only in formal sessions but also informally with many brilliant minds who are making a real impact in the field.
