Alagie Ceesay – Gambia

Academic background: Alagie N Ceesay is a Network Engineer with high interest in Digital Governance and Regulation. He is pursuing a Master’s Degree Program on Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin where he plans to specialize in Digital Policy. Alagie has a foundation technical background with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, professional certification training on MCSE, CCNP and other specialized training from India and Israel. He served as part time lecturer on Computer Networks at the American International University and as the Assistant IT and Network Manager at the Gambia Ports Authority.
Alagie currently serves as the Secretary General at the Internet Society chapter in Gambia where he has led many local and regional capacity building activities such as the AFNOG/AFCHIX 2017 on Unix Systems Administration for female engineers, Initial Registry Operations course with AFTLD and Internet Society for the Gambia ccTLD registry and ISP/Registrars Operators community, organized IGFs among other activities. Between 2015 to 2018, Ceesay participated in various ICANN meetings as a fellow including ICANN53, ICANN55, ICANN58, ICANN59 and ICANN64 and are the ISOC chapters primary ALS contact at AFRALO.
