Neema Lugangira

Hon. Neema Lugangira (MP) is a Member of Parliament in Tanzania who brings forward decades of experience in successful policy advocacy across different sectors. As a Parliamentarians her personal prioritised agendas include food systems and climate change, digital inclusion and development, global and community health, gender equality in politics and digital democracy Tanzania and across Africa.
She also serves as Chair of African Parliamentary Network on Internet Governance (APNIG), and Chair of Tanzania Chapter of Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
At national level, Hon. Lugangira is the Founder of two NGOs; Agri Thamani, which is committed to ending malnutrition through nutrition advocacy, addressing climate change, promoting clean cooking, improving food safety in markets, and strengthening food systems to improve school nutrition & elderly nutrition; and community health; and Omuka Hub, which is focused on accelerating digital inclusion, school connectivity, addressing online abuse, promoting digital trade, digital health, digital rights and digital democracy; and, advocate or community networks, civic tech and tech policy reforms.
Whilst internationally, Hon. Lugangira is a Member of Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group of the United National Internet Governance Forum; Africa Regional Representative for the International Parliamentary Network on Education (IPNEd); UNITE – Global Parliamentarians Network for Global Health; Global Co-Chair of Global Parliamentary Group to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases, Vital Voices Fellow; and WSIS Gender Trendsetter for Advancing Digital Gender Inclusion.
